Indeed I am. And now it's official: yesterday I turned in my Declaration of Major form to the appropriate authorities. And while I've been writing a lot about LitCrit, German I, and Anthrodullogy--now with even more fresh dull taste!--I have also started my piano studies with the chair of the department. Dr. A is affable, knowledgable and completely interested in me setting goals, choosing repertoire, and letting me decide how best to use this midlife educational experience. For you piano nerds, the music I've begun learning:
- Etude in D sharp minor, Op. 8, No. 12, Alexander Scriabin
- Sonata in A, D959, Franz Schubert
My senior music advisor, aka Stephanie, suggested the Schubert, and Dr. A the Scriabin.
Now I must practice, I suppose. And yes, D sharp minor is a horrible, horrible key.

This much I know is true: All the elements of the universe align better when we come back to the piano.
D-sharp minor? Good grief. That just made my non-pianist stomach flip.
