It is finished

The semester is over, 'tis done;
I'd say, all in all, we had fun.
Now it's time to be merry—
But crack a book nary—
And bake, knit, turn forty, and run!

I assume it goes without saying that your congratulatory comments will be in limerick form.

[Protesting in silence are we.
Otherwise, our comments would be:
Congrats! First term's over!
Now go play with Rover,
forget all this bad poetry.]

It seems tu in France might be bitter:
It's more fun o'er here, with the knitter.
You're better off fleeing--
MOA sounds appealing--
Time to realize this strike's a no-hitter.

In France, strikes make everyone suffer.
What makes you think you Yanks are tougher?
All you know is baseball
and shopping in malls.
American life? It's just fluffer.

(And I'm looking forward to joining you all in the fluffy homeland in just 48 hours!)

It appears that I now have the time,
to respond to my readers in rhyme.
My break has just started,
And I shan't be thwarted
In stomping out libel: a crime.

You fancy yourself a Crime-Stopper.
You'll give me one-two in the chopper
just for speaking my mind--
Bill of Rights?--left behind!
So now I'll shut up, prim and proper. ;-)

Congrats on the close of semester!
Your classmates you've laid out to fester. [eew]
Do you need a new hobby?
A new part-time job-y?
Or a title like Lim’rick BlogJester…

It’s time that I add a few words
To the blog of the one who I heard
Is soon turning forty
(Still, younger than Gordie.)
And kind of a musical nerd.

in australia in the student demographic, there is a swing to older students, among both undergrads and post grads. it's happened in my 'lifetime' at my uni. what are you studying scott? take care. nick.
