Cue La Marseillaise
As of midnight, France has ended its crippling strike against Going40. In the true spirit of liberty, equality, and sorority, Blogstriker sent us this photo of a French iPhone, so that we can appreciate what we have here in America. As you see, iFrench means typing AZERTY when you really mean QWERTY. Mon Dieu.

Shows what I know. I thought the French used the normal alphabet, like Americans use.
I had no idea.
Oh now, Going40 does not condone ethnocentrism of any kind. We don't say "normal alphabet" any more than someone in France would call American fat-free yogurt "sub-par." It just isn't done.
I've never parsed those lyrics into a normal language, like American.

Dang. That is one harsh national anthem.
Makes our bombs bursting in air seem kinda quaint.
I'd just like to point out that although "qwerty" is obviously not a word, "azerty" definitely could be (If you appointed me definition-maker, I would say that azerty is the happy feeling one gets when looking at the perfect shade of azure blue. Or perhaps the manner in which Azerbaijani warriors wave victory banners above blood-soaked fields while playing French battle anthems. But I digress.).
The point is that the French keyboard is simply more literate than the American keyboard. I am not, of course, saying that one is better or even more normal than the other. It all just comes down to whether we Americans consider it normal to be literate. (You may wish to refer to the clip of Dan Savage's interviews in South Carolina, posted yesterday on eWAC, while pondering this.)
I just found this link that put me over the edge.
2 Caveats: The iPhone is in so many ways an original. It is a lovely peice of equipment; I adore almost all tech gadgets, and nearly as many women.
I can't help myself. this is my iPhone limerick:
She waked in the room and all heads turned
The blonde with the tits made some pants burn
And oh what a voice
When she sang the “Rejoice”
The bliss to touch her must¬ be earned
So, time went by, and some swappage of notes
Most who once yearned were feeling more than their oats
But the reason was clear
Why the blonde was here
To her, score and conductor were footnotes
To the wishes of co-artists the smart one adheres
yet always acknowledges acrylic veneers
So when the blonde buckled
The brunette just chucked
“I’ve been doing this for years.”
(From my T-mobile MDA, and could have in 2005 if Blogger had existed.)
and this is what makes Blond(e) truly international http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqHWQTqRoe8&eurl=http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3142393&CatId=1809
