- Still mad about losing the scholarship.
- Still tired of the winter. Didn't help that neighbors Herb and Ruth escaped to the Galapagos Islands this week, and that I just met neighbor Sue in the elevator as she was leaving for Florida. Or that Eric and Burt desert us today for three weeks in Argentina.
- I'm a finalist for a writing job I really really want and would be really really good at (even though I hide those skills on this blog). I had thought it would be nailed down today, but now I'm going to be in suspense at least through the weekend, and I don't like to be nervous.
- My collaborative research proposal is thus far much better in my head than on paper. I have a week to fix it.
- Oh, I got the papers from the attorney so that I can break up with Buuji. Still the right thing, but nonetheless feels like a divorce.
- Not a stellar academic week. I turned in a paper for BritLit that I'm not completely proud of, and my last two German exams have sucked.
- My day begins with kale. In liquid form.
To recap: It sucks to be me. So I'm going to the Bulldog tonight. If Eric doesn't want to toxify, he can stay home and eat more kale.

Ran into your blog on accident...always a fan of knitters. Would love to see some of your stuff.
I like kale quite well in a soup, or wilted down in a hot pan with olive oil and garlic, but I'm pretty sure if I tried to drink kale juice in the morning (or any other time, come to think of it), I would hurl.
Don't they have a kale martini at Bulldog?
So, in addition to drinking, just suck it up, buttercup! :-)
I think the chef at El Bulli-dog will do the bacon cheeseburger with a kale foam if you ask nicely.
Baby, we didn't desert you. We're coming back, we promise. And we'll try to bring some warm weather back with us. :)
XOX. Hang in there.
