I have alluded these past weeks to a change in my professional life. As of today, March 1, I am no long a co-owner of Buuji, Inc., the company I started with my good friend Sara. The past 7+ years have been challenging, sometimes exciting, sometimes dull. Much has happened to me and to Sara in those years; as we've changed, our goals, circumstances, and priorities have diverged. Now is the best time for us to part. She is going to take the company forward, and, as Heidi Klum so succinctly says each week, "that means, Scott, you're out."
My long-term plans are exciting, and I'm eager to continue focus on Hamline, grad school, and a career as a musician and writer, or musical writer, or writing musician. Or vagrant. The short term is less clearly defined, and while it's a bit (okay, a lot) scary, Eric has been wonderfully supportive, as have all of you.
The most obvious means of support I have at this point is this very blog, so from here on out, it will cost each of you a thousand dollars every time you log on. I think it's a reasonable price to pay for this treasure trove of Blog Fun.

erm ... do you take checks?
My check is in the mail...
$1000? We'll write it off against the utter delight that comes with having me as a friend.
Oh. And by the way, ignore that reply from "phil" - he is SOOOOO not in charge of the checkbook.
I'm sure you've heard that the dollar hit an all-time low against the euro this week, and $1000 is now equal to just, um, one little euro cent (trust me on this; I have an MBA in finance, and I wouldn't want you to waste your needed-for-study time on boring exchange rate calculations). So I'll bring you a handful of euro pennies the next time I see you, 'kay?!
It was pledge week on MPR, and Ann stopped listening.
Hint. Hint.
