Seriously winter, enough

I have been in the car for 22 minutes and have yet to reach the
freeway on-ramp. I live 12 blocks from said ramp. It is safe to blog
because I am not moving.

Would this be a good time to mention that it'll be 80 degrees and sunny in Buenos Aires when we arrive on Saturday?

If not, the please let me know when a good time would be.

I just spoke to MD and he had been in his car for an hour and hadn't even gone through the tunnel yet... That is usually a 10 minute drive. UGH.

There are many reasons why living in a small town out in the middle of nowhere (nearly in South Dakota) is annoying...

* All bread at the grocery store (the only "bakery" option) is made from the same recipe, then baked into different shapes in order to call itself "French baguette" or "ciabatta" or whatever.

* When the local cops (or undercover drug task force) make a drug bust, there's about a 30% chance the criminal will be a former student.

* It took a LONG time for decent, cheapish internet access to get here.

* If you get pulled over for a traffic violation, your full name and age are printed in the local paper.

* I have to drive two and a half hours to see interesting (independent, non-blockbuster, Oscar worthy) films. And I do.

* Ditto for theater.

* Ditto for Twins games.

* Ditto for Scooter and Rock, among other cool people.

* Sirens are not white noise. When you hear a siren, someone you know within two degrees is suffering.

* Sadly, my aunt's iphone didn't work here. I know. Ghastly.

But the 8 block commute to one job and four block commute to the other? Not annoying. Seriously, I can't even hear a full track from a CD between driveway and parking lot.

(You'd think I would walk. I don't. Yeah, it's a little pitiful.)
