The easy way out

Bumper stickers are essentially lame. I like one, you like another, and someone else doesn't get the joke. And worse, a bumper sticker I've never seen before is old hat to you. And is there anything sadder than a Kerry '84 sticker, ripped and peeling, stuck on pre-Prius bumper? Not pretty. And yes, the sentiments expressed have an unfortunate way of reducing difficult subjects to unrealistically simple slogans. Still, I thought my parents were pretty cool in the 70s for the You Can't Hug a Child with Nuclear Arms sticker adorning our brown conversion van. While walking the dog a bit ago (an aside: it's @&(&#@ hot out there!) I snorted when I saw this:

Wait a minute. I thought your parents had the "It will be a great day when our schools get all the money they need and the air force has to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber." bumper sticker.
