Hello, dear readers. For some of you, perhaps this Thanksgiving weekend was a bit less cheerful, given that you had no new Going40 posts to delight you. Sorry, the hinterlands were calling. And now, most thankfully, we have returned to civilization. Much family, much food, much laughter: hopefully the same for all of you (though I hope your niece can't throw as loud a screaming tantrum as ours. Love you, Ava!)
Something for which we're always thankful: dinner out with StyleGuru and Architect last night at the much-anticipated (and now favorite) Nick and Eddie, on Loring Park. It's so stylish, and they serve a perfect sidecar. Don't go there, because it's ours.
A busy week awaits, and for you that means more fun tales of woe from Going40. Eerily, as of today, 40 days remain until I really am going 40 in a 20 zone.

Glad you have returned and blogged. Your numerical insight prompts me to tell you that I had the fortune/misfortune of noting one day last fall that it was 60 days until John's 60th birthday (and our 30th wedding anniversary). So I decided to give him a gift on each of those 60 days. Whew. What a project. Even though none of the gifts were amazing (one Sunday I did diet coke research --checking the paper to see where we could find the cheapest price on said item that week) it was more work than I anticipated but fun. You may adopt and adapt this idea as you see fit, Eric.
I had a birthday-related revelation myself over the holiday. Wednesday was my 59-1/2th birthday. Whee, now I can cash in those IRAs!

Wow, rootbeerlady makes an interesting point. And here I thought coming up with little gifties for a 25-door Advent calendar was hard work!
Who knew that eating butterscotch pudding in a room with flocked damask wallpaper could feel like the height of civilization?
