Hey look, over there, above the bald guy. Remember that letter a few weeks ago, then one from Hamline where they said they would offer institutional support to some of us nerds interested in applying for fellowships? So I took them up on that, and had a meeting, and now I have to decide where I'm applying. It's looking like a Fulbright to study at either the Mozarteum in Salzburg or the Kodaly Institute in Budapest. I have sooooo much work to do before I even know enough to decide which program to pursue (by April 6). Then I have sooooo much more work to do to write a decent application (due in October). Then, all the stars in the heavens have to align to spell Scooter, Get Thee to Europe.
A boy can dream.

Budapest rocks, sweetie, but do you have ANY idea how hard Hungarian is to learn? It makes German look like a walk in the park by comparison. Check this page out:

And I'm speaking as a former linguist here (who has spent time in Budapest), not as a former Austrian lit specialist.
Anyway, I'd love to come visit you in Salzburg! We can dance our way through the city, singing like Julie Andrews. (Yes, I'm a counter-tenor, okay?)
That is so cool, Scott! I hope you do end up somewhere in Europe and MD and I can come visit.
