An injustice anywhere is an injustice everywhere

So sayeth Samuel Johnson (1709-1784), and while I don't know what the hell it means, I needed a quote about terrible wrongs to highlight what has happened to me.

My loving partner (I'll call him Eric), owns a beautiful MacBook Pro. I have nothing. Or more specifically, an HP (stands for Hellish Poo) laptop that is dying. Now today, Eric informs me that tomorrow his agency is providing him with, wait, you guessed it, A NEW MACBOOK. That's TWO shiny Apple laptops he now has, for those of you keeping track at home.

Evil in the world: 1
Goodness and mercy: 0

I wait. I suffer, not so much in silence. My Jobs, why hast thou forsaken me?

Surely Eric will realize that it's actually a hassle to have two laptops. Surely he'll condense everything into one and let you borrow the other for a few months. Surely.

He will see the result of the suffering of his soul and be satisfied.

I thought we all agreed that I have first dibs on any excess computers that Eric has, since it's his fault that my screen got waterlogged when I went to see "Sex and the City" for him.

(The facts that:
1) My screen has since dried out perfectly well;
2) My computer is also an HP, which I happen to adore; and
3) I couldn't care less about having a Macbook,
would all add up to make Eric giving me a Macbook even more poetic injustice for Scott to suffer through. i.e., The Perfect Solution.)
