Fairey Tale

One of my favorite parts of this election has been the visibility of artists, especially street artists, using their various media to document Obama's ascent. The most famous of these, Shepard Fairey designed the now-iconic HOPE poster. It has been much imitated, he has achieved fame and prestigious commissions, and now, the original art that was such an inspiring part of the campaign has been procured by the National Portrait Gallery of the Smithsonian.
