I am thankful that . . .

. . . I never have to go to another biology lab for the rest of my life, forever and ever. Amen.

Hallefrickinlujiah! Way to persevere, Scott.

SO looking forward to next Thurs. My darling wife has even agreed to be my date. Hands off boys, she's taken! ;-)

That's how I feel about my second hour class this week.

Wait, did I type that out loud? Whoops.

I meant, standing in front of 26 non-advanced-track twelfth graders who would rather be anywhere other than inside a building that reeks of burning asbestos from the HVAC project that has shut down all our ventilation systems, with a fake smile plastered on my face while I try not to be distracted by the two boys inexplicably pawing each other or the girl slathering lotion on her new tattoo or the candidate for rehab nodding off in the back row as I read aloud a lovely Gary Soto poem, to which I seem to be the only one listening based on the 26 blank faces staring out the window when I finish... Yeah, that's fulfilling work.

Only 8 days to inspiration (and 11 school days to go).
